Helping You Get Back on Track
Improve Movement, Function & Confidence
Meet Steph
As an Olympic athlete, I was involved in a number of sports growing up from gymnastics & ballet to volleyball, basketball, tennis, and Heptathlon before going on to represent Canada in the pole vault internationally. Through this journey, I suffered numerous injuries which forced me to seek out various therapists and treatment techniques to allow me to continue to train and rehabilitate through the ongoing injuries. What I didn’t know then but have a better understanding of now is how much my Hyper-mobility played a part in my injury history and struggles to stay healthy as a professional athlete. Since retiring from sport, I have devoted my time and energy to helping others improve their health and well-being following injury, illness or loss of fitness.
The rehab journey can be challenging so I take the time to understand your history of injury & illness and then help you connect with your body and educate you on more efficient ways to move; allowing you to return to the activities that you love.
I have found combining Physiotherapy with a Clinical Pilates approach helps my patients regain strength and restore an active lifestyle. I am passionate about supporting each of my patients to get them back on track by providing them with a plan to point them in the right direction.
Pointing you in the right direction
Physiotherapy
These sessions focus on our physiotherapist performing a detailed assessment and then utilizing a variety of treatment techniques such as manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue work and/or dry needling, acupuncture or IMS to help restore mobility and then assign exercises to improve stability and strength to resolve injuries and prevent progression of illness.
Clinical Pilates
These sessions take a holistic approach to rehabilitation where the physiotherapist combines the principles of Pilates with manual therapy and hands-on facilitation to address non-0ptimal movement patterns that may be affecting one’s current injuries.
Scoliosis
These sessions will focus on the Physiotherapist identifying an individual’s curve pattern, provide education on the development of these spinal changes & teach ways to improve postural control, and maintain the corrected posture in their activities of daily living.
Education
Looking to integrate Clinical Pilates into your practice or wanting to learn more about Scoliosis management? This is an opportunity to book a Workshop or consultation inorder to expand your knowledge or better understand different treatment techniques to assist with special populations of patients.
What Makes Steph Different
I’ve suffered through numerous injuries and found ways to resume the activities that light me up. My goal is to assist you with finding the right tools or techniques to work through your injuries and help you better understand your body to assist with returning to the activities you have been sidelined from.
Each session is one-on-one and forty-five to sixty minutes long, which will give us time to address stiffness or restrictions and then implement mobility techniques or exercises to address your motor control, strength and stability in order to improve your overall function.
